And that is confirmed. After that Texas OU game the fans always in Dallas seem to emphasize OU sucks even more because it resonates and it echoes on that side of the cotton ball.
Speaker 4:And this year it was actually true, ou did really suck.
Speaker 3:Hey, we're going to get into that man 34-3 Texas, texas trying to catch up here and they superior talent. But there is a big, big weekend in the atx and stevie's gonna try to experience all of it all of it was stevie lee, episode 415.
Speaker 5:Let's ride, please be careful. There's the floor is thick, with sooner tears I got my bucket.
Speaker 3:Oh man, even the gate operators great gate attendants at the Cotton Bowl having fun with the outcome there. There were a lot of Sooner tears in Dallas, but not many of them stuck around, Just like whoever loses that game. Let's be honest with each other. Everybody clears out if you're on the losing end of that, especially when, if it's not a one or two-score game, people bolt, as the OU Sooner fan base did.
Speaker 4:Yep, yeah, man, that was fun to watch, dude, and I was behind enemy lines. I was in Oklahoma all weekend and it's weird up there, man, I go in to get some breakfast at a Whataburger and the orange Whataburger that you walk into it was all OU. It was a group of old, old men that looked like they'd meet there every morning. They all had their OU shirts on, OU hats on. And then I stopped at a gas station and a lady in line goes have y'all been busy because of all the OU Texas fans going down to the game? No, she said all the people going down to the OU Texas game, Right, and so I spoke up. I said so y'all call it OU Texas up here, huh.
Speaker 4:They sure do. And then she looked back at me. She said well, you must be from Texas. I said you're right, but in my mind I was like you're damn right.
Speaker 3:I am Brother, my six years up there. I was corrected at least two dozen times. It is not Texas OU, it's OU Texas.
Speaker 4:Yeah, that's exactly what she said, man, it was OU Texas. It did sound weird just hearing them say it man.
Speaker 3:They say it rolls right off the tongue easier saying OU, Texas. I beg to differ and I still stand behind that.
Speaker 4:No question.

Speaker 4:Hargrove Roofing Know who's on your roof and exactly right. Hey, we got an event with Hargrove Roofing this Thursdaygrove.
Speaker 3:Roofing, know who's on your roof and exactly right. Hey, we got an event with Hargrove Roofing this Thursday.
Speaker 4:This Thursday? Absolutely we do. Yeah, We'll be out at.
Speaker 3:I think it's Hole in the Wall.
Speaker 4:Hole in the Wall with Brett Auburn.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 4:Signing autographs and witches out there hanging out man Having a good old time.
Speaker 3:And everybody's invited.
Speaker 4:Yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 3:Go to the Facebook page Hargrove Roofing in Austin and you'll get all that information. All right, you mentioned Stevie. He said he was in Oklahoma. He actually called me when I was at the Texas almost said it man at Texas OU game and asked me where they could stay, because I do love OKC and that is no secret, but he was up there and he'll tell you why. So Team Lee that being Stevie and Summer shot this video. They went to Sooner Center. It was just me Walking the streets of Norman. Give them hell. Give them hell.
Speaker 4:Oh you sucks. Now listen man, it was just me and my daughter. She was going on a college visit up to Langston.
Speaker 3:Oh yeah, hbcu.
Speaker 4:Yeah, yeah, langston University. And so we, on the way back, we stopped into Oklahoma City. She wanted to do some shopping and went by Penn Mall this is my first time spending time in Oklahoma City and it's actually a nice place, man and then on the way driving back, I said we got to pass Norman, we got to pass OU, we got to pass their stadium, so let's just stop in. She's like Dad, no, don't do that. I was like you don't know the level of pettiness your dad has. I'm going to show you a little bit.
Speaker 4:I walked and made her video and film and take pictures. I have plenty more pictures that I'm trolling them all. It was fun. I sent it to my pastor, who was a quarterback at OU, and he had a good laugh out of it. Man, but it's all in fun, man, we're going to enjoy this win this year because they got us last year, so we're going to enjoy it this year. So it's fun, man. It're going to enjoy this win this year because they got us last year, so we're going to enjoy it this year. So it's fun, man, it's all in fun.
Speaker 3:And OU now only leads 16 to nine in games played in the 21st century. Hey, let's get it going. Let's talk about this game. Let's talk about Texas beating Oklahoma 34 to three. Let's first off hear from Brent Venables beating Oklahoma 34-3. Let's first off hear from Brent Venables, the head coach of OU, and kind of points out what they did right and what they did not do well against Texas, and we had some really bad moments when we needed to be at our best and we weren't.
Speaker 8:And so whatever we did bad on that field, whether it's offense defense or in the kicking game and it starts with me I've got to do a better job having these guys prepared and ready to play. There were some bright spots Not many of them, but there were some.
Speaker 3:There weren't many of them. So what's correct? Everyone knows by now OU's defense. They were pretty good, there's no doubt. Offensively they were short-handed. That quarterback I think can develop. Hawkins Jr I think he can develop into something. But they've really really got to provide some more talent around him, including developing that offensive line. I mean they were down five receivers but you can tell they're a little depleted. I don't know if some of it's scheme they're not in the same ball yard as Texas.
Speaker 4:I mean this is big time D1 college football man. We're down three running backs, right Point, it's the next man. Up mentality you got to recruit better son. So I'm not going to give him any kind of excuses? Man, those guys are mean. I told you they called me Bevo.
Speaker 5:I know they did.
Speaker 3:But you know, but I'm just saying, I'm just saying, how far behind they are right now. No, I get you.
Speaker 4:I hear what you're saying, man, and then, on all intents and purposes, man, yes, they are, they are. They were riddled with a bunch of injuries. I actually saw that today when I was, you know, studying for the, the podcast and things like that. Like they were, they were down a bunch of receivers and you really can't come back from that man and then switching up the quarterback like this man this early in the season. But I mean, he looked rattled, dude, Like he was running for his life.
Speaker 4:He was running for his life and I thought they were going to make a change back to a different quarterback and they didn't. But it was tough to watch if you're an OU fan for a while.
Speaker 3:Let's talk about Texas. Let's talk about Texas. Let's get this momentum going here, because we're going to try to get this in in 45 minutes. You think we can do it.
Speaker 4:Hell no, but go ahead, let's do it.
Speaker 3:Texas D. We're going to show you the defensive highlights. Trip down they limited Oklahoma. Texas fans are getting spoiled here. This is a legit defense Five QB sacks. Limited OU to 237 yards of offense A really bad offense, but you've got to do it. This is the UT defense summed up in 40 seconds.
Speaker 2:Hawkins under immediate pressure and he'll be sacked all the way back at the 41 as Michael Taft came on. The safety blitz Needs six here. Hawkins from the pocket in traffic, he'll be brought down. Big Baron Sorrell got him Pressure. Hawkins flushed escapes, went in for his life. They ripped the football out. Anthony Hill attacked the football and Texas has a takeaway. Oklahoma goes to Tatum who spins free and dives across the 35. He lost the ball, the scramble for it, five-man rush Again Hawkins pressured and dropped down by Anthony Hill who has had a monster.
Speaker 9:What I love about our defense, it's not about one or two guys. There's 11 guys out there that play really well together. We rotate a lot of players and everybody has confidence in the next guy that's going in, and I think that allows us to stay fresh and continue to play well against the run and the pass.
Speaker 7:We get to go against an offense like that every single day. Coach talks about us having swagger and confidence. You wonder why. I mean we get to go against Quinn Ewers, Isaiah Bond, Matthew Golden, Gunnar Helm, Calvin Banks, Cam Williams, Jake Majors I could go on and on and on about those guys and so that gives us the confidence. It's the preparation, and we just know that the best is yet to come.
Speaker 3:How about that man, michael Taft, one of those come on a safety blitz? He has really become a really good DB. I mean, there is so much talent around him which, as you know, I mean he was great at Westlake. But it's amazing to see someone elevate who they are because of the talent around them. And a good story in that he's become one of the leaders on this defense. I mean, I think PK Pete Krakowski, the DC, started to reveal a little bit more even though they really didn't have to.
Speaker 4:Didn't have to. That safety blitz he came down on was perfect, man. He disguised it perfect. They didn't pick it up. You know, hill had a great game too, man, I was watching him. He was all over the place. So, man, that was just fun to watch. And good fundamental defense, it was awesome.
Speaker 3:No, it was great, it was really fun. And did you learn anything else from this defensive performance, or is it still about the same for you? As far as did you learn something, although it was Oklahoma?
Speaker 4:No, I think it was still it was. I did learn like we got five sacks, all right, so that was pretty new. I mean, we never had that many sacks in one game, am I correct?
Speaker 3:No.
Speaker 4:You are right, no.
Speaker 3:I mean, you're right.
Speaker 4:Yeah, yeah, that's a game high. So we were all over the place. We had to settle in the first part of the game, like there was some defensive miscues first part of the game. That just nerve settling in on a big rivalry game like that. And then Quinn threw that interception.
Speaker 3:But we'll get to that in a minute on offense, okay, yeah.
Speaker 4:Yeah, so there were some things that we had to get. We know what's the really cool thing we got a win for 34-3 and we still haven't played a complete game yet offensively to your point.
Speaker 3:Quinn, you were first time really back in three weeks. Expected the rust, expected a slow start. I did get a little concerned because I think Texas had 18 total yards of offense in that first quarter, but that's coupled with a good defense. Oklahoma really has a stout defense. But when Quinn threw behind that receiver right to that safety because he did that last year if I remember correctly.
Speaker 2:But then they got it back together and this is the offensive highlights in 59 seconds at the one yard line he was in the move, throws it back, helms got it and gunner. Helms dives to the end zone and texas, after a slow start, jumps on top, is there, makes a cut. We Wisner loses the football, bounces into the end zone to scramble for it, trying to make the recovery of Silas Bolden, and he does for a Texas touchdown, just trying to stretch the lead in the cash in. Look out Wisner's loose Petravian. Wisner to the end zone and Texas, in a one-play drive, builds the lead. Double pass again they're going to try it. Golden sucks into the end zone and this time they make the catch he threw into double coverage. 20-yard gain. Viewers will run it in. Takes a shot in the end zone but builds the lead and Texas gets some sweep those boys having fun.
Speaker 4:They were having fun. Man Silas, he can do it all. Huh, he can throw passes.
Speaker 3:Effort play.
Speaker 4:Yeah, effort play. So when I was watching on TV you didn't see you were there in live, but he was way behind the play and he was already sprinting to the ball. You know, you're taught in Little League just get around the ball, because things happen around the ball. And so he was sprinting up to the ball and all of a sudden he saw the ball go out. See ball, get ball. He saw it come out, he ran and got it. That could have been disastrous. It could have gone out the back of the end zone and then that's a touchback, you know. So him jumping on it, that was 100% effort play from him, 100%.
Speaker 3:Effort and Trey Weisner. I'm not going to just, you know, put a title on him, say he's the most physical bag, but the guy shows up. I mean you talk about injuries to one position. This goes to the recruiting and development, or development, more, more and more than recruiting, in my opinion.
Speaker 4:Uh huh, close choice yeah, yeah, this choice is awesome yeah, and, and sark talks about that.
Speaker 3:Uh, there really is no number one back. He basically said that it's probably going to change each game who they're going to feature, and I've never heard it that way before. That just tells me there's a wealth of ability and talent. 177 yards, that's after a slow start, because they basically wore that OU defense down.
Speaker 9:We have a really competitive roster that loves competing with one another and pushing one another to become the best that they can be. And Trey Wisner, jaden Blue, ryan Niblett, jarrett Gibson each game it's been kind of a different guy that has shown up that we've needed to go win that game at the running back position.
Speaker 3:Championship teams have that convenience, and this is not a run-dominated offense, I mean, but they do need the run to be successful, there's no doubt about it, and you're seeing it happen. Need the run to be successful? There's no doubt about it. Um, and you're seeing it happen. Um, where you are you concerned at all? Uh, about jayden blue and the number of carries, or do you believe what sark's saying, that it could be his game next game?
Speaker 4:no, absolutely um. You know that far. We're far down into the depth chart right now. You know so, um. So you know it is kind of running back by committee, you know so, um, and they're both doing a phenomenal job. We just need more ball security. Never put the ball on the ground, so, uh, long as we keep holding on to the ball and getting positive yards. We got two good running backs with two good running backs that are out, you know right. So we're in a very good position to be in man. So, yeah, it could be the sun shining on somebody else's ass the next day, you know.
Speaker 3:You're damn right, it could be, you know. Keep your pants up or pull them down if you want the sun to shine on you so you get some PT.
Speaker 3:Hey, golden, matthew Golden. They called the double pass twice. The first one he underthrew, yeah, wide open. The second one, he nailed it. And it's pretty damn funny, you know, because they do the good, bad and ugly on Sunday of the Clips and show it to the team and it's kind of, I think, the good, bad and ugly. These kids look forward to it when they do film criticism. This is when Golden finally hit on the pass play.
Speaker 9:I had a feeling they might cover it a little better, which they did. It was a heck of a catch by Gunnar Helm down there to the one, but again his first. Both throws were in my good, bad and ugly tape this morning and if anybody wants to know when I saw the throw, it reminded me of something. It reminded me of 50 Cent's first pitch, and so we kind of showed that after that throw to get a chuckle out of the guys 50 Cent was one of the worst ceremonial first pitches I've ever seen.
Speaker 4:Yeah.
Speaker 3:At least he did it from the mound, but he threw it over here. He could have put somebody's eye.
Speaker 4:Yeah, and it looked like he threw it left-handed, but it looked like he's really right-handed, so it was terrible.
Speaker 3:You guys had film sessions like that. How much fun is it on Sundays when you're criticizing each other.
Speaker 4:It's hilarious, man. Sometimes you just man. It was one time somebody tripped over a blade of grass and they just kept running it back like rewinding it. It was just like falling over nothing. There was nothing to be falling over, you know.
Speaker 3:In high school. I'm going to go ahead and throw this out. There we're playing Waco. Midway there was a kicker, really good kicker. He had I can't remember if he had his arm, had half an arm. Davin Dobbs, I think, was his name. He ended up playing for Baylor. He was great, he was really good, and he would come down and hit you too on the kickoff team. So I saw him. We were in Waco or in Hewitt, just south of Waco, and I saw him coming. I was on kickoff return and I wasn't going to hit him. I was like I was going to go somewhere else. Next thing, you know, three seconds, two seconds later, I'm eating turf right in front of my sideline. Dabbing took my legs out.
Speaker 4:Yeah.
Speaker 3:So in film on the next day, coach Daddy was doing this with the arm inside of his shirt and they kept calling me one-armed bandit.
Speaker 4:Yeah, they got you man.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I'm steady man.
Speaker 4:Hey, he's on the field, man, he's fair game.
Speaker 3:That was on me. I should have engaged contact.
Speaker 5:You should have.
Speaker 3:Hey, you mentioned Anthony Hill made some plays. Well, we all know Baker Mayfield. When they beat when they were at OU and they beat Ohio State, he planted the OU flag in the middle at Columbus Ohio. I don't know why Anthony Hill picked the Baker Mayfield jersey. Actually, I found out earlier, right before this podcast. You know they took the Longhorn flag and planted it on top of Baker Mayfield's jersey at the center of the Cotton.
Speaker 6:Bowl. Can you explain the whole Baker Mayfield jersey?
Speaker 1:I just felt like it was a right thing for me to do. I've seen all the stuff they posted last year so I felt like it was right for me just to get a little touch of something on them. So I just had to post me a little something to just to make the team and make us feel good.
Speaker 3:I love that kid.
Speaker 4:Yeah, number zero baby. That's good. They shot the cannon through the jersey.
Speaker 3:They sure did. They sure did. He said that actually he's a fan of Baker Mayfield. Baker Mayfield is fun to watch in the NFL. He said he's a fan of Baker Mayfield. Baker Mayfield's fun to watch in the NFL. He says he's a fan of him, but that a Texas fan gave him that jersey. He didn't want to reveal which fan it was.
Speaker 5:Yeah.
Speaker 3:This team has a lot of character. A lot of character and characters, if you will. But when you win like that at Red River, you can celebrate however you want and the spoils of winning it you get to bring home.
Speaker 2:this bad boy Bring home the means of love, just a whistle, yeah, all these thoughts, all these thoughts, all these thoughts yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 9:All you suck, all you suck. We got to see you. We got to see you. We got to see you. Like I told them in the locker room, it's a great win. Getting the golden hat back is a tremendous honor for these guys to have part of their legacy here. We're going to enjoy it, but the journey is far from over. We got more work to do.
Speaker 3:All right, buddy, I hate to point it out, but you came close a couple times to trying on that golden hat, but do you ever think about it? Because you ever think about that, that's something you never was able to experience.
Speaker 4:Yes, I do think about it and I'm not giving you a hard time.
Speaker 3:I know you're not, don't worry about it.
Speaker 4:I would not giving you a hard time.
Speaker 3:I know you're not, don't worry about it. I would, I would, it would bother me.
Speaker 4:Yeah, so I do think about it a lot Never beat OU. But then I also turn around and think about I never lost to A&M, so that's my saving grace right there. And I did experience the hat right. So the hat was in our locker room my freshman year before we lost. So it was in our locker room, I saw it, experienced it, picked up the hat and everything, and then we took it to Dallas for the game which we're supposed to, and I never saw it again. I never saw it again. I never saw it again.
Speaker 5:That's a long time man.
Speaker 4:Yeah.
Speaker 3:But it happens. This series is very streaky.
Speaker 4:Yep.
Speaker 3:And I've got a feeling there may be a shift right now.
Speaker 4:No question.
Speaker 3:No question, yeah, man, stevie, I don't know how to describe what's about to happen in Austin, texas, in a few days. This is going to be one of the most intense. Austin's going to be crazy wild. It's going to be well, it's already filled to capacity, but there's going to be a lot of people in town, and this is one of the reasons. Brother, we were right there, right there, at the Sugar Bowl, five minutes before it happened.
Speaker 4:Yeah.
Speaker 3:We were there for three and a half hours doing all of our media work and decided to go. No, we were there for four hours before doing our media work and a picture of Trish on the wall, goodness gracious. And then we get a text of where are y'all? We need this video and we're like what video? Bebo, charles Dugga, yeah. And I'm like of all times, and they expected us to be right there. Yeah, we're all open stadium yeah that's funny.
Speaker 4:I was in the stadium there watching as a spectator man, that was a huge game. You know Georgia's playing that game back in their head and they want revenge. So they're going to come in here trying to get it, man. So hopefully our guys are on top of it. Hopefully they enjoyed that win and put it behind them, because we got a big week ahead of us.
Speaker 3:Yeah, big week and you know that was a great. I thought that team in 2018 could have done a lot more things. That was a great group of guys there. You know you had Colin Johnson, sam Ellinger, pj Locke, you had a lot of great DBs and it's just we'd be here for days. I just I have a special affinity, special feelings for that team, that group. And then Trey Watson, the transfer running back had a great game from transfer from Cal. So, speaking of Georgia, so Texas won 31-13, I think, over Georgia, right? Is that what the score was Over Mississippi State.
Speaker 4:I'm not sure. I don't know this. Yeah, I'm not sure.
Speaker 3:Well, last week Georgia narrowly defeated Mississippi State, 41-31. So, georgia, they're good, they're great, but this is how much they've given up on defense. So three points, three points, 12 points. They gave up 41 points to, obviously, alabama, and then 13 points and 31 more against Mississippi State, who has since improved since they opened the SEC schedule in Austin.
Speaker 4:Yeah. So what's this telling us guys? Georgia's defense is not as a steel wall as everyone thought they were. So our offense is our bright spot. Looks like Georgia's defense is their dark spot. So we just got to come with it this week. Man, dial up some plays that's never seen before and just execute man. All we got to do is execute. Execute the game plan, execute each play uh, every down is a battle. And win your individual battles this is the game.
Speaker 3:This is the game everyone has been looking forward to. Uh, when the schedule? I mean since january, since january, since the playoffs got eliminated in the national semifinals. This is the game people like me bought season tickets for. Yeah See this I mean
Speaker 3:and it has somewhat evolved how we wanted it. Georgia lost to Alabama. They're still top five in the country. It is ESPN College game day is going to be in Austin. That's not all that's going to be in austin. It is a big, big weekend and, stevie, you can expand on all that dude man, I I call this the sports and entertainment capital of the world.
Speaker 4:This weekend, man, we got world-class race car. F1 racing is in town this weekend. My wife and I have a hospitality suite over there for the whole weekend. If y'all need me, I'll be out underneath the tower in a hospitality suite the whole weekend. From Friday, gates open at 9 am. They won't close until 8 pm that night. I'll be there the whole day Friday, saturday and Sunday, man. So that's crazy.
Speaker 4:And so we got race cars throughout the whole day. They have different types of circuits that's going to be on the track. And then you got Sting afterwards for the concert on Friday. And then on Saturday we got to hightail it out from qualifying to get over to the stadium to watch Texas-Georgia game. But while we're doing that, we're going to miss the Eminem concert that's going to happen on Saturday night. It's a huge weekend in Austin If people are out there trying to find a room. That's why you cannot find one under $1,000 a night, you know. And so Austin, texas, has been a really, really cool place for the last month. Weekends of ACL has just passed and we got this huge weekend of sports and entertainment right now and once the next weekend roll around and we get a breather around here, everybody just take a side release and and take a nap around here. Man, it's been crazy y'all for the whole month of october and the end of september I already.
Speaker 3:I already pre-scheduled my uber for saturday afternoon did you really? I knew. I knew that it would be hard to get one.
Speaker 4:Oh, you know what I may need to do that too. Well, we have parking passes for the F1 race, so we'll park right by the front gate. But getting out of there, trying to get over to the game, I might need to hitch a ride on one of the driver's helicopters. Man.
Speaker 3:Do that, hey, back to football and the SEC. So LSU beat Ole Miss and I think Ole Miss, unless they went out, they're pretty much I think they're eliminated from the playoff race. Unless they went out, man, it's their second loss. So LSU and a LSU alum NFL receiver, they were trolling I mean trolling Ole Miss in the locker room.
Speaker 2:Ole Miss Rebels. What happened?
Speaker 3:Odell Beckham Jr baby. So yeah, lsu's in the hunt, lsu is in the hunt and that's from your neck of the woods. So that's why and we're going to show you where they are, stevie, what do you think? Time to reveal our power rankings? Go for it.
Speaker 3:Let's go baby. All right, here we are. That's a little bitty screen. I have no idea what I did. You guys at home deserve better than this. That is not good. You guys at home deserve better than this. That is not good. But Oregon did enough for me to go up to two. I think Ohio State still stays. They go down one because it was on the road. But Will Howard, the former Kansas State quarterback who transferred to Ohio State, what was he thinking?
Speaker 3:He should have called timeout, he slid. Called timeout, he slid and timer expired but moved George down a little bit to five and LSU up to number seven, followed by Alabama, clemson, iowa State, stevie's second favorite college football program A&M, and then Tennessee, which I think Tennessee, eh, then four on the outside Indiana, the Hoosiers, undefeated, kansas State, Notre Dame and BYU still undefeated.
Speaker 4:So tell me, this Penn State won right.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 4:And you still got Ohio State over Penn State.
Speaker 3:I still think Ohio State's Penn State hasn't played the schedule. I just think they're better power-wise.
Speaker 4:Okay, penn.
Speaker 3:State stayed at four.
Speaker 4:Ooh, I might switch those two, but go ahead.
Speaker 3:We're going to play caption this, Stevie.
Speaker 4:Okay.
Speaker 3:Yeah, we're going to play caption this and while I get the photo loaded, we got to show you this nice, beautiful thing we call a transition bumper. This is a picture yours truly took at the Cotton Bowl sundown. You got the beautiful sundown. You got, oh, big Tex, who has no ass at all, by the way. Poor guy's been through hell. He burned up a few years ago when he internally combusted. We've all been there and there's Big Tex and then the Texas flag and that beautiful Dallas skyline. What's your caption for this, stevie Lee?
Speaker 4:Hey man, text is looking down on the crowd saying see, I told you we win According to the burnt orange flag. There you go.
Speaker 3:Oh my gosh, it's a burnt orange world. That's what I'm thinking. Okay, got you. It's a burnt orange world. That's what I'm thinking.
Speaker 4:That's what you're. Okay, got you, that's good.
Speaker 3:You like that, I like it. Good, what is it? Hey, tell us, folks who are watching, submit your captions. What would you caption this? Those of you fine American beautiful people watching this episode, give us your caption, by the way. And so, before we take a quick break, I'm going to give you a quick tease what we're going to be talking about in segment two. It's a quick segment. Yeah, this is pretty much how it is. That's exactly what it feels like to be a Cowboys fan Awful, awful, awful, awful, horrible. Let's pay tribute to Stevie Lee and Hargrove Ruping. We'll see you on the other side of this break.
Speaker 5:Today is going to be an exciting day at the Hargrove office as we bring in a local celebrity. Welcome the kicking phenom, bert Auburn. Conference champion of the Texas Longhorn football team, all-conference kicker. He's going to be our new spokesman. Bert's the best kicker in the conference. He plays for the Texas Longhorns, as you can see. You know Bert's f***ing awesome. Hey, stevie. Dude, you're really replacing me with a kicker. No, not at all, man. Hey guys, who wants a picture with Stevie? Anyone. Guys who wants a picture with stevie? Anyone? Stevie almost won a big 12 championship, hargrove roofing. Know who's on your?
Speaker 4:roof Help. That's perfect man. That's perfect Dude. It really looked like Dallas put their JV team out there. That's embarrassing. Let's watch that again. Dallas put their JV team out there.
Speaker 5:That's embarrassing.
Speaker 3:Let's watch that again this is Dak Prescott in the huddle Sunday.
Speaker 4:Help. That's funny. That's funny, it's about right too, man. Oh, it was really bad when he came out of the game did not go back in at the start of the fourth quarter. Early in the fourth quarter he did not go back into the game. Man, that was terrible.
Speaker 3:That was terrible man.
Speaker 4:He's a $260 million quarterback.
Speaker 3:Offensive line's not good, receivers aren't good. They got a good tight end. They got a good kicker.
Speaker 4:Apparently they have a good receiver. I didn't see him. Cd Lamb.
Speaker 3:I'm lost. Yeah, I'm not. Detroit's good and man. So Aiden Hutchison, love that defensive end, love that kid. He had to have emergency surgery on, I think, his fibula or tibia. He could not go back to Detroit.
Speaker 3:They had to keep him and have that surgery and apparently it went well. Gruesome lower leg injury. Prayers up for Aiden. He is a one of the leaders, heart and soul of that team. Detroit's good. Here's the thing Dallas can beat bad teams. Dallas cannot beat a good team. So therefore the Cowboys are going to be eight and nine this year. That's their fifth worst loss in franchise history. 47 to nine, that's three straight losses by huge margins at home.
Speaker 5:Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
Speaker 3:They're bad, Steven. I hate saying that about them.
Speaker 4:Yeah, but it's true, man Jerry has to blow up the whole team and Jerry needs to step out of the way as GM he needs to go find him his sons, enough nepotism.
Speaker 4:Yeah, they got to go find a real, a real GM that and and and. What they can put them at is as as as a assistant GM. If they don't want to eat, if they have the ego and don't want to give up the the GM position name, be GM name only and go and get a real good GM to put him as an assistant GM, make that guy make all the shots you know.
Speaker 3:You don't need any of the Jones family. Dallas is not going to be any good until the Jones family Get out of their own way, contracts out or hires a department. Yeah, yep, I know they have two good scouts. I know Deuce vaughn's dad's one of the scouts. He knows what he's doing. Yeah, um, and they just need a operations. We've talked about it. But dac offers some uh concerns and some uh.
Speaker 6:he actually has some optimism no, I mean we've got to get better. Simply, simply and obviously we're going into the bye week. I mean we're three and three, six games under us, a long season to go. Uh, I've been in in worse situations. I guess you can say in teams, um, and then got it going. Obviously you never prepare for that or think that can happen the way that it did today. I'm here at home again now dropping three at home, a place that we've been great at.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I mean Dak's smart, good spokesperson, good face for the franchise. Do you see any? I mean, come on, let's be real. I mean leave the optimism at home. Can this team? I mean, come on, let's be real. I mean, leave the optimism at home. Can this team? I mean they're pros buddy. Can this team get on some type of role? He's not wrong. Teams can do it, make adjustments and have identity situations where they realize all right, this is going to throw down the egos, but do they have the personnel to do something like that, to reel off where they're actually getting in on a wild card?
Speaker 4:No, not from what I've seen, Not from what I saw yesterday. No, everybody just gave up. It was done. Now can they do it. Yeah, it's all possible, but I don't think it's going to happen. I really don't. They just gave up yesterday.
Speaker 3:While that BS is stinking up North Texas, down in Southeast Texas, houston man, they are 5-1. They just moralized the Patriots. So there we go. There's hope for part of the state. So let's talk food. We usually do food with Steve. Well, he does food Destinations fun, but Texas State Fair Food it's always good. I'll be honest with you. Brian Mays and I we had dinner there on the fairgrounds Saturday night. Not going to lie, these are the Texas Friedas fried, burnt end bombs. Yes, I mean, does that look appetizing to you?
Speaker 4:a burnt end is already good by itself, but if you bread it and fry it, yep, I think it would be even better it's.
Speaker 3:It's not heart healthy, nor is anything there there, but I will say those two were equivalent to $22. Basically, mustard beer that was our celebratory beverage. Mustard beer Tastes like pickle juice, smells just like it.
Speaker 4:Mustard beer.
Speaker 3:Fletcher's. Corndog Brews it. Oh, mustard beer, fantastic. Is it really? I have to check that out next. Dog Bruise it Mustard beer, fantastic. Is it really? I have to check that out next time. I felt hydrated. I felt hydrated, good for you. Hey, tiktok in the man cave. I don't know why we do this because we're dudes, I guess but flatulence is funny. Flatulence is funny even out in the wilderness. And check out the title of this Nature's Trumpet.
Speaker 4:No.
Speaker 3:That's a hidden camera out in the middle of the woods.
Speaker 4:It's a deer camera.
Speaker 3:Shall we see it again.
Speaker 4:He pushed that one, bro, he pushed that one Never, ever trust one. Yeah, he needs to go to the doctor.
Speaker 3:He needs to go to the doctor man, god almighty, you can tell it, you can see it when it hit him. Yeah, he needs to go to the doctor. He needs to go to the doctor man, god almighty, you can tell it, you can see it when it hit him.
Speaker 4:Yeah man, hey man.
Speaker 6:Tell me something good.
Speaker 3:Stevie Lee, it could be football, life in general, anything you've seen lately that gives you hope and positivity to spread to the masses. Tell me something good, my brother.
Speaker 4:Man, something good this weekend in Austin, texas, is something to do for anybody and everybody. You can hit up East Austin, hit up 6th Street, hit up the football game, hit up the F1 race or even hit up one of the concerts out there at the F1. So, man, have a great time. Go to Longhorn City Limits and hear the spoons hit up one of the concerts out there at the f1. So, man, have a great time. Go to austin's uh, go to longhorn city limits and hear, um, the, uh, the spoons. Is that they call themselves the spoons or is it spoon?
Speaker 3:I, I need to, I need to check. I didn't check it it's called the spoons.
Speaker 4:They're playing uh are playing at uh longhorn city limits. So it's something to do in this beautiful town that we call awesome texas.
Speaker 3:Man, um, that's something good, man, go and enjoy yourself it's not enough, right yeah, right and for those, you know that some of that stuff's not in everyone's budget. So here's a tip for that get it. Get an uber, uh, or yeah, I would uber, I don would Uber. Don't park near UT, don't do it. Uber down. Save some money. Get to campus about 1 o'clock, go walk around Tailgate, go watch Longhorn City Limits it's free.
Speaker 4:And game day. Game day is here as well.
Speaker 3:And game day, Do it that morning. Yes, In game day all eyes of the nation will be on Austin, Texas, and it seems to be the case a lot. And then Bebo Boulevard, and then let's go to some of the walk to not MLK, what's the bordering street to the north of campus.
Speaker 4:Dean Keaton. Dean Keaton.
Speaker 3:Dean Keaton. Go to a couple of those old school Austin UT original bars over there and go watch the game there. You don't have to go to anywhere. Anything modern, those are great, keep them in business. Or go to Dirty's during the game, but it's a good, inexpensive way to spend game day. Those are great, keep them in business or go to Dirty's during the game, but it's a good inexpensive way to spend game day, because, man, these game days here are becoming more and more fun.
Speaker 3:First year in the SEC. This is going to be something to remember for a long time and everybody's starting to believe. Now. So is Stevie Lee Speaking of to the beautiful Lee family and to the great city of Shreveport, louisiana, in northwest Louisiana, and to the Hargrove family and Hargrove Roofing. What do you say?
Speaker 4:Nose on your roof.
