Speaker 1:You don't know football. You can't do nothing that I do. You can't go out there and do nothing.
Speaker 2:Stay in your lane, buddy. Wow, wow. Trayvon Dix and the Dallas Cowboys. Clearly the frustration of this season is boiling over. A tweet by a former colleague of mine at WFAA in the Dallas-Fort Worth market tweeted out what seemed to be harmless. There was nothing personal and I, like everyone else, floored, but I've had almost a day just to let this marinate. Trayvon Diggs one of the guys, good guys for the Dallas Cowboys, but a 3-4 season Wow, it has been nothing but negative headlines because the lot losses continue to pile up.
Speaker 2:Trayvon Diggs upset over a tweet let's talk about it. So that was the tweet by Mike Leslie of WFA, who is a really good sports anchor and good storyteller. It was a harmless tweet. I am Sean Clinch, the host of Stories Inside the man Cave podcast. This is let's Talk About it and this is what I want to say. Everyone across the nation is talking about. Before we get going like, follow each of our social media platforms, that being on Facebook, ig X, twitter if you're still calling it that YouTube and on TikTok. And a big shout out to each of our four sponsors Jim Saxon, state Farm Insurance and Dirty Martin's Place, who recently celebrated 98 years an iconic ATX, original Hargrove Roofing, know who's On your Roof and Honest Pl air. We're. A handshake still means something.
Speaker 2:So here's the tweet which triggered Trayvon Diggs. You just saw the video. I mean Mike Leslie. All he said was what is Trayvon Diggs doing on this play? Well, what Trayvon Diggs was doing on that play was covering man, meaning he was a defensive back man up on the inside receiver for the San Francisco 49ers. George Kittle got the pass underneath. Trayvon Diggs is right there on top trying to get off of coverage and try to make the tackle. Now, the more I look at this play, I'm not sure what the tweet was about, and I have the utmost respect for Mike Leslie, I really do. I'm not sure. Maybe he saw something that I didn't. Maybe there wasn't aggressive enough going underneath, getting up of his receiver, to go make the tackle on the tight end. George Kittle for the 49ers.
Speaker 2:Another loss for the Cowboys, another loss against the San Francisco 49ers. That one hurts for Cowboys fans. But after letting it marinate and trying to figure out what is Trayvon Diggs doing, I don't see it. Letting it marinate and trying to figure out what is Trayvon Diggs doing, I don't see it. And I'm not trying to just defend the player or call out Mike Leslie. I'm not. I'm just trying to figure out what Mike was trying to point out that Trayvon was doing wrong, but nonetheless, diggs confronted Mike Leslie after the 49ers loss right as he got to the locker room. And this was video shot by another former colleague of mine who I have a great deal of respect for, newey Scruggs, and at the competing TV station, the DFW Mark.
Speaker 1:That whole play. That's what you took from that. You don't know football. You can't do nothing that I do. You can't go out there and do nothing.
Speaker 3:They ain't your lane buddy Stop crying to me bro. Just asking the question, trayvon. I mean I'm happy to have you answer the question.
Speaker 1:That's what you got from that.
Speaker 2:That whole play. That's what you got from that. We can talk about it more. What were you doing there? He says we can talk about it. Trayvon said we can talk about these nuts which, by the way, brilliant. Tweet by Nui Scruggs today that prompted tweet by Newey Scruggs today that prompted this. This by Newey Scruggs tweeted it's just a matter of time until Jerry Jones makes this the official sponsor for the Cowboys postgame locker room interviews. Both of these nuts made by the Candles Daddy, brilliant. The stories sell themselves. The stories manufactured themselves constantly when the Dallas Cowboys are involved. Although hilarious, does the Cowboys find a way to be in the news?
Speaker 2:And things aren't going well for the Cowboys, but I'll give you my take, unsolicited take, after you hear this. This was Trayvon on fellow teammate Michael Parsons' podcast earlier today.
Speaker 1:Saying anything Like. I'm not going for that. I'm not going to just allow you to try to like, make me seem out of that play, make me seem like I'm the problem. That's not cool. And you're right here, you work for the cowboys, you, you know the cowboys, you work, you know, with us like. You know. You might not know what's going on, but you know that that wasn't on me, so it just was weird to me and I just didn't like that. So, okay, cool, calm, collected um, putting it all together.
Speaker 2:Okay, cool, calm, collected, Putting it all together. I still don't understand that. Mike Leslie, what was his tweet? Mike Leslie said what is Trayvon Diggs doing on that particular play? I have to go with Trayvon In defense of him. He was just trying to cover his receiver and go make the tackle that Donovan Wilson, I think, had the tight end. He didn't make the right play, from what I could tell on the big tight end. But Trayvon was wrong to confront Mike Leslie.
Speaker 2:And it's hard for these athletes, you know, because they receive, I know you can instantly say well, they're paid millions of dollars, great money they are. But they are professional athletes and that's the one part that I know. Some media members do take it, maybe a little too far, but the media members are also the voice of the fans. But there's also a level of professionalism. I don't know. I'm not saying that Mike Leslie's not professional. He's an Emmy award-winning sports reporter. The guy's talented, Very good, he's proven himself. This isn't something that should be set off fireworks over Simple tweet. But Trayvon, in my opinion, was wrong confronting Mike the way he did. Hey, we'll put that to rest and I have no idea which direction the Cowboys are going. I mean, what do you think?
Speaker 3:Three and four.
Speaker 2:I hate to say it, but I'm going to stick beside my prediction. It just seems like the Cowboys are headed toward a losing eight and nine season. Hey, the Cowboys or, excuse me, the Longhorns bye week before they meet the Florida Gators that's coming up after this break. Honest is a strong word and we all need honesty when it comes to plumbing and HVAC needs, somebody who will take care of the repairs efficiently and with quality. Honest Plumbing and Air is who I trust and they take pride in that word. Honest Plumbing and Air is who I trust and they take pride in that word. Honest Plumbing and Air where a handshake still means something. Austin, texas is changing every day, but one constant is Dirty Martin's place on Guad. Dirty's recently celebrated 98 years young and the future is soft, and this space in the back is open to host any event, personal or business related.
Speaker 3:Hey everyone, it's Daniel here at Dirty Martins. We're in the burnt orange room. We are currently booking a lot of parties back here. If you can see, we got a capacity for about 90 people, but we are excited to host any party that you might want to bring give daniel young, a call at dirty's to reserve this space for any event that you can think of.
Speaker 2:This is jj gotch, ceo of the austin gamblers, and segment two of stories inside the man cave is next.
Speaker 3:Even in past protection I'd love to say it was just one group. It really wasn't. You know, we had a running back issue in protection. We had some O-line issue in protections. We had an RPO that they defended well, where Quinn had to eat the ball and take a sack. So sometimes you look at numbers and it's easy to point to that group. Everybody's got to do their job better. Clearly I think they know they can play better than they played the last couple weeks. That's, that's our job myself, coach Flood, everybody involved, the leaders, jake Majors. That group got a veteran group and they've got some good football ahead of them and they'll get there and welcome back.
Speaker 2:yeah, the Longhorns taking a bye week before a major stretch, I think, obviously the stretch of the season which is going to dictate if the Longhorns remain in contention for not only a playoff spot, an SEC championship and a national championship. You look at this schedule Texas 7-1, and Steve Sarkeesian talking about all the pressures that Quinn Ewers received in that 27-24 win at Vanderbilt a road win against a ranked team. Anyone who is negating that? Vanderbilt is one of the scrappiest teams in America, in my opinion. Just watching them play, I know they lost to Georgia State but they also beat Alabama and they're a good, solid salty football team. But the Texas O-line, the tight ends and I'm going to go ahead and see the running backs say the running backs they just noticing on film the Longhorns missed some key blocks and I saw some linebackers shooting the gaps, defensive linemen for Vanderbilt shooting the gaps on block and really put a lot of pressure on Quinn. Quinn also in the pocket. It looks like if he would step up in the pocket. I'm not paid to make those decisions so I'm no expert at that, but it just looked like maybe Quinn stepping up in the pocket would help. But he was pressured a lot, a lot, and there were some mixed blocks. I mean Vanderbilt had four sacks on Quinn Ewers of defense, so a good time for a bye week.
Speaker 2:You ask any player in America, they, yes, it's a great time for a bye week. And then they host the Florida Gators, who are improving. And then at Arkansas I mean it is a big four-game stretch for Texas and you've got at Arkansas and you finished the year at Texas A&M. So at home against Florida, at home against Kentucky, and those two key road games at Arkansas, which is going to be like a hornet's nest Fayetteville is not an easy place to play, especially because that's a rivalry Texas Arkansas. And then, of course, the return of the UT and A&M rivalry in College Station may be the best atmosphere of any game all season. And I still say this I think that game will determine who plays in the SEC championship. Or they could play and, depending on the scenarios, the two could meet again in Atlanta, georgia, to play for the SEC championship.
Speaker 2:Pretty amazing, this is what Texas Longhorn fans have been waiting for. This is what the SEC is, what it brings to the table Tremendous football, tremendous fanfare, great atmospheres and a lot of pressure on games. Hey, just for fun, these are the programs in the state of Texas who are bowl eligible, provided by the Instagram site Texas Football Life UT, a&m, smu and Sam Houston, who is very new to the FBS level. They are bowl eligible. And then Texas State and Baylor Only two wins out, and then we look like North Texas, tcu and Tech Only need one more win. Pretty impressive If you think about it.
Speaker 2:It's fun this time of year. And you know Some of these other programs. Look you, you know A&M in Texas. They're on a crash course and they're on a crash course to compete for one of the 12 college football playoff spots. And you know what, when you have an opportunity to talk about the Dallas Cowboys, who are not a good football team right now, they're struggling and it just seems like the sky's falling because America's team, the fans who follow America's team, always have hope every season, even if the schemes and the personnel's not there. They're always thinking, ah, super Bowl. But whenever you have a chance to talk about the Dallas Cowboys and SEC football, it's always good to talk about it. Thanks for watching, guys.
