SPEAKER_02:

That sums it up. They don't like us and we don't like them. I am Sean Clinch, the host of Stories Inside the Man Cave Podcast, and the co-host of The Past Russ with Stevie Lee. The Aggies and Longhorn Rivalry is part of my inner foundation, if you will. Pretty sure I came out of the womb. Looking forward to this rivalry every year, every Thanksgiving, every Thanksgiving evening. The state, living rooms, friendships, relationships, marriages divided. One day out of the year. We're going to get into this because this will be the first time in 15 years that the Longhorns and Aggies will meet in Austin, Texas. I can go on and on about the stories of this, the midnight yell practice for the Aggies on the steps of the Capitol, whenever they play here in Austin. A lot of people disagree. I say this is a bigger rivalry than Texas OU, especially in the great state of Texas. Before we get going, because we got a lot, and I know Mike Adams and Stevie Lee will have plenty to say about this great game. I cannot wait for them to chime in, deliver their feedback because they both played against the Aggies. If you need any help, any help getting ready for that Texas and Texas AM game for any beverages or anything of that sort, you need to see my guy Dave Ramirez at Northwest Hills Lake. Episode 496, the past rush with Stevie Lee, the Aggies and Longhorn. Let's run it on the Stevie Lee.

SPEAKER_08:

No, I don't feel like suiting up at all. Too old for this. But but I'm looking forward to it, man. It's gonna be a lot of fun. Can't wait.

SPEAKER_02:

So Stevie Lee and both Mike, he and Mike Adams are both uh in remote locations. Stevie Lee, the traditional road trip to the mom and pop lee's home in Shreveport, Louisiana. What give me a brief description now? What are the smells? It is is it prepping for Thanksgiving food yet?

SPEAKER_08:

No, they'll start doing a little bit of prep tomorrow. Uh, but today or yesterday we had crab boil. Um, and then today we oh we went out today. But when I first got here on uh Friday night, me and my wife went over to Orlando's, which is a staple here. Fried catfish, fried shrimp, stuffed shrimp. Yeah, man, and some red beans and rice and all that stuff. It's around the corner from my parents' house on the lake. It's great.

SPEAKER_02:

Man, yeah, I'm starving. Thanks for that. I appreciate it. Um, yeah, uh, we're gonna have to make room. We gotta start practicing, conditioning uh our stomach, bowels, whatnot. It's uh but a lot to be thankful for, and we're really thankful for the logos you see all over this screen. And Stevie Lee uh articulates that the best because we are a big fan of the Hardgrove family and Hardgrove Roofing.

SPEAKER_08:

Yeah, I'm trying to catch up with Billy Hardgrove here while I'm here in uh the next week. So Harbrove Roofing, know who's on your roof.

SPEAKER_02:

100%. And be sure to follow us on each of our social media platforms. And our guy, our third member of our team, he's in Louisville, Kentucky, visiting his sons with his better half. And I it's he's always remote, and it's always we flip a coin sometimes to figure out where he is. Let's find out exactly where he is. Yes, sir. What's going on, fellas? Yeah, welcome, man. This is uh it's funny. It does, it kind of fit sounds like uh holiday time at a shopping mall behind you.

SPEAKER_11:

Sure is the great Oxmore Mall here in Louisville, Kentucky, one of the uh higher end malls here, you know, Louisville kind of kind of higher end parts of Louisville. Nah, man, having a good time up here. Uh the the boys felt like they needed to do some shopping after that heartbreaking loss here on in Dallas on Saturday. Took a drumming down here in the homecoming, but a lot to be thankful for.

SPEAKER_02:

Good. Lots to be thankful for your two boys, your lovely wife, great, beautiful family. Um, I got a little surprise for you, bro. Um for both of you, absolutely. Um, maybe this will trigger some things, if you will.

SPEAKER_11:

Man, I'm an AM pro. Man, I love that song. I used to hey, that that fire me up. I'll sit here. I'm ready to suit up right now. I'm here for it.

SPEAKER_02:

I love it. I remember some interviews with you back in your in your prime, man. It was uh you lived for this game. You you lived for it.

SPEAKER_11:

It's just an awesome game, man. I and to be honest, I didn't really know what it meant until my freshman year. I was my I was a freshman and played and really was just happy to be on the field. I'm kind of like, okay, getting some playing time, going against Aaron Glenn and Coriad and all those guys, right? And AM was top five, and we no way we had a chance to beat him. But the horns got cut out that week of practice, and then they beat us. You know, Pete Gardier, they intercepted him on the five-yard line. It was a close game, but it shouldn't have been close, but that's just speaks to the rivalry. Aaron Glenn returns at 95 yards when the game was over, they danced on Bivo in the middle of the field. That's when he hit me, and I said, Okay. This I said, okay. I knew from right then I didn't like those dudes. I didn't like EM. I didn't like what they stood for. That's when I learned that the AM Texas robbery, it became personal with me as a longhorn. And it's been that way ever since.

SPEAKER_02:

Man, it's that's I think that really drives home everything. And Stevie, um, we're gonna get back to you, but I'll I'll point this out for you. Stevie was never lost to AM.

SPEAKER_08:

Never ever. Never ever. And uh, I took a red shirt freshman year for uh uh medical injury and still never lost. So our five years straight, I'm um undefeated against AM. But I do feel it though. Um you don't want to lose to them. It's uh in-state rival, and you will hear about it the rest of the year. Yes, it's um it's a really big significant game. I'm so glad it is back. I'm so glad so glad that it's back, and I'm I'm so glad to be. Um I told my parents that I'm leaving. We're leaving on Friday morning to get back so we can make it back for that game. And I usually stay here through the weekend and just watch it on TV. But we're going back to sitting in my seats in that game with my girls just for this Aggie game.

SPEAKER_02:

It's it's it's unlike any other. I mean, I know Texas OU is very unique, yeah, but let's work our way into it. We Texas did get the win over Arkansas. I thought there were a lot of great things, and you know, uh Starks opening up his playbook kind of took a page out of the Philadelphia Eagles playbook.

SPEAKER_03:

Here goes the trick play, and it's right into the hands of Archman. It was Parker Livingston with the touchdown pass to his good buddy.

SPEAKER_09:

That play's been in it for a while now, so we're excited to call it. We had to call it in the timeout. I'll say we gotta call it again, we gotta keep it up.

SPEAKER_06:

So uh it was kind of sunny, I lost it for a second.

SPEAKER_09:

Yeah, um, it wasn't the best play for a little bit. Yeah, I know he had a good he threw it well on Thursday, but uh yeah, I had a he he's bailed me out a few times, so I had to bail him out there.

SPEAKER_02:

All right, so just like that, Arch Manning became the first Longhorn quarterback ever to pass for a touchdown, run for a touchdown, and receive a touchdown in one game. Um we'll circle back around to Stevie. Did what did you like coming out of this game?

SPEAKER_08:

Um it was um it was good offensively, really good, but um we let Arkansas put too many points on the board. So we gotta clean that up. Uh we got Taft back, and uh I thought that it was gonna be a little bit more solid. Um we really feel like we missed heel um because you know the defense wasn't gelling as much as I thought that they would, but letting what was it, 37 points?

SPEAKER_02:

52-37.

SPEAKER_08:

Yeah, letting letting um Arkansas put up 37 points, that's not good. Uh a two and what they only won two teams uh games, so it was a two and nine six uh game or team.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, but they they they have put up a lot of points all year. Their offensive line is huge, and they had lost six of their eight games by combined 17.

SPEAKER_08:

I hear you, Sean. Sounds like you're making an excuse, man.

SPEAKER_02:

Don't hey AM put up 42 on I mean they AM put up 45. Arkansas scored 42 on them.

SPEAKER_08:

Oh, okay. Well, still, even still, 37 points wasn't was too much for me. Offense did very well. We got a defensive score uh also in that, but uh 37 points too much.

SPEAKER_02:

MA. What do you what do you from this past Saturday? What do you leave with? What's your feel? You feel any better?

SPEAKER_11:

I mean, I mean, I agree with Stevie. I mean, we did give up a lot of points, but I think our defense, man, especially on the back end, we're we're uh you know, slightly young, slightly inexperienced, um, got some guys injured, returning back. Uh Arkansas's explosive, man. I mean, they they've lost some close games, like you mentioned. I mean, I think what six or seven of the ball games they've lost by a touchdown or less. Uh, they played AM very tight. I mean, a lot of those games that they lost, they were within one score. And they were, you know, the quarterback, man, he's a talent. Uh it was it was a good win for us. You know, maybe a little sloppy, give up a lot of points. Yeah, um, definitely something we need to correct before we um invite Marcel Reed and his explosive offense into town. But um definitely a lot of teeth tape for sure to go over this week before we uh get ready for the Aggies. But all in all, I mean, I mean, Arch accomplished something that no other quarterback has ever accomplished, or player for that matter. Wait, Carl, 3-1, you know, ran one in, I guess. Uh, you know, that that's a pretty tall feat considering the illustrious history of you know football here in Texas, man, and all the explosive players come through. So um he had a good game, man. I think he's continuing to trend in a positive direction. Uh, I think everything just comes to a you know a culmination here Friday. You know, can can we bring it all together against one of the best teams in the country in AM?

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, that's it's gonna be fun. And um to kind of circle back to both of them, uh Stevie and Mike have a lot of memories playing AM. Um that Adams had a phenomenal game in '96 against AM in Austin, which clenched their uh the Big 12 South and went on and beat Nebraska. But in 92, you alluded to it. AM uh was undefeated going in that game as well. Here's a catch from uh Mike Adams in that '92 game. I just want everybody to see this.

SPEAKER_12:

Push off.

SPEAKER_11:

Man, that was hey, that's that's terrible announcing by that. Was that Ron Franklin? Or my goodness. The late Ron Franklin. That's my guy, too, man. Ray rest in peace. I know it's not he's a pretty good dude, but that was not a push off. I saw the ball that was under throw and it came back to it, and D D was out of position, man. Learned that as a young freshman, man. Hey, that's terrible, Ron. Come on, Ron. Let's be for the home team. Right, you know, we were actually making a comeback at that time. And and like I mentioned, man, we we I think maybe two or three plays later, uh you know, Aaron Glenn, all American intercepts the ball. I think he undercut a slant route to Derek Duke. He should have been throwing it to me, but he's the one to throw it to the other guy. You take it back to the house. We might have won that game, but nah. Just man, the the robbery itself, playing those guys, man, in state. I mean, you want those bragging rights, and yeah, that that that catch brought back memories for sure.

SPEAKER_02:

So uh Stevie, you guys played in two different eras, and you guys, Stevie, you guys just pretty much dominated him every time you played, and and when Mike came in, they were building back up. So here's something I look back since 1980. The reason why I started at 1984, that's when Jackie Sherrill, he came in. Um came down and brought his team to Austin. They were not going to a bowl, but they annihilated Texas. Annihilated Texas in here in Austin, and he did the same in 84, 85, 86, 87. He got close in 88, kind of close in 89. Uh, but Texas lost to AM six straight years during that span. And he just here's just a couple of shots, including the Aaron Glenn INT. Um, I remember that was at a night in which a cold front came in. Then in 90, Austin went crazy because the six-game losing skip finally ended. And that's the first, I think that's the first one. No, it's the second one you'll see right here. I was happy then Texas would lose four more straight to AM after that. But Mike was a part of the change in ninety-five and ninety-six. Um, but you fast forward to now, guys. Um is this a stretch to even say this? Aggies have everything to lose, Stevie? On Friday.

SPEAKER_08:

Everything to lose? Um They're not gonna lose every if when we beat them. They don't lose everything. They'll still make the uh playoffs, right?

SPEAKER_02:

Do you do you make the playoffs? SEC championship more than likely. I I need to go through the scenarios because if you're not gonna be.

SPEAKER_08:

I don't think they make the SEC championship, but they it's not everything to lose. Uh, but I would love to spoil their SEC championship game um appearance. Um well they may there are they they're the only team still undefeated in SEC, correct? They yeah, yeah, you're right. Yeah, so they don't have anything to lose, I guess. Because if we beat them, they can still make it to the SEC Championship.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, there'll be a large scenario with one lost teens, because you know everybody doesn't play everybody because you got Georgia. Um, and I think it's it's it could be a uh a scenario where you go, all right, so-and-so went head to head, one Mike. I mean, have you are you have a better understanding of the scenarios leading up to this?

SPEAKER_11:

So I I think AM, if they lose, because Georgia has one loss, and I believe Ole Miss has one loss.

SPEAKER_04:

Yes.

SPEAKER_11:

So so I think if they lose, they may they may lose out on the tiebreaker, and I don't think they make the SEC championship game. But even if they do, yeah, I think they have everything to lose. Because if they lose to us, that's gonna jack them up in the seating in the CFP playoff ranking. Um, they stand a good chance to lose that first round game. I don't even care who it's against. I think just from a mental standpoint, they cannot afford to lose that game. Because that's two years in a row you've lost to Texas since. You know, Texas has joined the SEC. Uh I I I still think until they beat us Friday, I think AM is the same team we saw a year ago today almost, which they were dominated in college station. So they're really going to show me, they're gonna show the country that they are indeed worthy of being 10-0, 11-0 right now, and can take care of the Longhorns on Friday, which AM is favored in the game.

SPEAKER_02:

About two and a half, I think.

SPEAKER_11:

Yeah, so I mean, as far as I'm concerned, and and we're talking about a young Texas team, right? That you know, on paper, AM should handle. I I just don't see it. I really don't. And I I'll be I'll be the first one to give them the roses if they go into DKR and win that game. But they're gonna have to show me.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, it's so here here's basically what it is. Georgia, they're done with the SEC schedule. They're seven and one. They can wait. They're playing Georgia Tech. Uh Ole Miss is in the egg ball. That anything can happen in that game against Mississippi State. Alabama Auburn, but Alabama has one loss. So it it it's really a lot of things can happen, but I I'm gonna side with MA on this. AM loses. There's a chance they do not they lose their spot in the SEC Championship game. Um because looking at their schedule right now, and they didn't they don't have any head-to-head other than Texas. Well, Texas won't be a factor, right? They don't they didn't play any of the other one lost teams.

SPEAKER_11:

I I I think they have they have one of the stronger records or excuse me, like schedules at one point, but they haven't played anybody other than than Notre Dame that's really I actually I think the string the record is pretty pretty good, but if they lose this game, now they've lost to an opponent that's you know less a rank than the other teams who have made loss to opponents. That that hurts AM. I mean, I mean they have a good chance to really drop you know below seven, below eight. It just depends on how they lose. Because Texas right now, they aren't really being viewed very strong in terms of uh right, right, right, just in terms of where they're ranked right now and the teams they lost to.

SPEAKER_02:

So, but either way, I think we all can agree, man. Mike Elko has done a phenomenal job and still in that toughness turning it around. And he this was him uh addressing the team and and talking about hey, you're in pretty much in new territory for the program.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay, you're doing things and kicking down doors that this program hasn't done, right? You're a special group, all right. Now it's go time, right? Now it's go time, right? This is what we all signed up for to get to this point of the year with trophies on the line to be in position to go get whatever the f you want to get.

SPEAKER_02:

Man, he's it that's where they get this from. So what do you do? What do you do against this team? I mean, clearly, you know, I want to show you guys a graphic soon, shortly, but as far as game planning, defensively, um, you know, Michael Taft was asked about because they've got some home run hitters at receiver. Um and this is Taft, you know, Taft just classy, and he acknowledges everyone in the room, so to speak, uh, that they're gonna be facing on that AM offense.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh it's gonna be a really good challenge for us. We just play, you know, Barnesall wins some of those close games. We just played a Heisman candidate, we just played a Heisman candidate in Georgia, and now we're going to play um one of the top three Heisman candidates. So um love the challenge for the for the defense.

SPEAKER_02:

Stevie, what do you what are you hearing from? I mean, his again, you can't really tell much from what they say in the media, but uh you how do you cover that? I mean, would you say the same thing?

SPEAKER_08:

Oh I don't know, man. Um they do have two great receivers that uh that can catch the ball all over the field. And our and and our defense has been struggling as of late in the backfield or in the um secondary. So uh I think uh it always starts with the D-line for me, man. Let's get some people into uh in the backfield, in the quarterback's face, and uh and rush um uh uh uh mess up his timing is what I'm trying to say. Uh I don't know, man. It's it's um it's a tall task right now. Uh they just look really good and and and clicking on offense, but South Carolina in that first half made them look vulnerable.

SPEAKER_02:

That's it.

SPEAKER_08:

Yeah, and so and but we can um we and we can build on that part. But when they go in the locker room, make adjustments and um and have their motivating coach Elko talking the way he talks, I think um, you know, it's it's a dangerous game. I still think we win uh if we're asking predictions.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_08:

Yeah, but um it is a tall task um because they can throw the ball and pull it down and run.

SPEAKER_02:

Now, this is a stat that uh Stevie being the defensive guy, AM's defense has the most sacks in the country. Most. And you know how I mean we've seen before game nine of this year, we we saw how porous and suspect the Texas O-line is. Um guys, this is the stat that really stands out to me. I on third down conversion on defense, number one in the country, teams are only successful on third down collectively 22% of the time. That's that's what stands out to me. And to your point and to Mike, which will love this, you know, I don't think KC Conception is getting enough love. I mean, uh what do you think about his game, MA?

SPEAKER_11:

Yeah, man. Every game I've seen him in, very explosive, big time playmaker. Honestly, he had AM hasn't had a playmaker like him since Mike Evans. And even before that, I can't think of another AM playmaker from the wide receiver position that they could take the ball to the house every single time. Nah, nah, he definitely goes down as one of the better guys they've had wearing the maroon and white. I think uh, you know, you mentioned third downs and their defense, and just thinking about you know how we should take advantage of that. Uh, you know, offensive line. I mean, I I think Shark, and I'm just obviously I hadn't talked to him, but I think he's gonna use their aggressiveness against him. I think we have to. I mean, because those guys are gonna pin their ears back and definitely try to get out to the quarterback. Um, expect a lot of misdirection from us, I hope. Some play action. Uh, but just playing fast, man, we got to find a way to get those guys, you know, you know, off the T-box, so to speak, so they can't just tee off on arcs and take advantage of our offensive line that that's still growing, not as you know, not where they should be right now. But we gotta be aggressive, I think, in our play calling and just attacking those guys. Because if we just line up and just try to, you know, three yards and cloud of dust, I'm not sure that's gonna be successful against these dudes.

SPEAKER_02:

No, that's a good that's a good point. Um so let's say Texas wins. Okay. What what and a lot of other matchups, we really don't know what's gonna happen. What will the CFP look like next week? Because then then you've got the the conference championship games the following week. And that's what really determines our Stevie. I don't know, or Mike, do you remember just do do those conference championship games affect the CFP? Because I remember one time they said their criteria was they're pretty much deadlocked. Unless it's a team that has to win the conference championship game.

SPEAKER_11:

Right. And I think that's the only time it might really matter. You know, if it could affect a team, let's say Texas was in position to be in the CFP with two losses or so, and they go to CFP and clearly might need to win that game in order to get in the playoff. Because if they would lose that game, that would give them three losses now, and they might be on the outside looking in. I I think other than that scenario, um I think they do matter from a seeding standpoint if you already are a lock in the playoffs. Yeah, you know, but if you're on the outside looking in, it definitely depends on your situation. And as far as we go, no, Texas. Even if we beat AM, and I think it depends on how we beat them, how much we beat them by, and who else loses this week and next week, it's a long shot for us to get in. I mean, I mean, we're similar to where South Carolina was last year. I mean, they were saying that you know South Carolina was like the hottest three loss team in the country. Yeah, and they actually ended up on a what two or three game win streak, beat the Ryan, but but they didn't get in the playoffs. So, so I I think where we're sitting at right now, it might be hard for us. I mean, we would have to literally go from 17 all the way into possibly the nine spot. And I just don't know how that would happen. A lot of teams would have to lose.

SPEAKER_02:

Stevie, you feel what's your if your your personal level of percentage of a chance you're given Texas to get into the CFP?

SPEAKER_08:

Why you asked me that, man? It's a very small percentage.

SPEAKER_02:

I'll say 10%.

SPEAKER_08:

Yeah, I was gonna go under that. But uh but correct me if I'm wrong, guys. Um, does the conference champs not get an automatic buy?

SPEAKER_11:

No. Oh the top four ranked teams, just the top automatic by yes, the top four rank teams.

SPEAKER_08:

It doesn't matter if you're a conference champ or not.

SPEAKER_02:

It used to be they changed that this year. Okay, that's why Boise State got a bye last year when they shouldn't have.

SPEAKER_11:

So if you so if you win your conference championship, I mean that'll get you an at-large bid, but they may not get you uh a bye in the first round, yeah. Gotcha, yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Because just think if it was last year's rules, North Texas may be getting a CFP bye if they win their conference championship, right?

SPEAKER_11:

Right, right. And they they wanted to kind of do away with that possibility of a lesser ranked team getting a bye over a team that's top rank.

SPEAKER_02:

I like it. Top four teams in the CFP. Um, man, I gotta bring up something uh from MA's years. You know, there's hard hits every game, but in rivalries, they're harder. But Stevie, you may be able to refresh something from your days, but this one sticks in my mind 1995 at college station. Bryant Westbrook. That that defensive backfield to me was one of the best assembled in Texas history. Check out this, Steve. You probably we've all seen it, but I this is the one I went to that game with a then college girlfriend, drove in at college station. He had to get that in there, I had to get that in there.

SPEAKER_11:

Oh lord, I still my dog Westbrook. Hey, the hit heard around the world. No, what around the world that one against Notre Dame the next year was even better, equally as good of a hit. And honestly, man, that AM game that year in '95, that's when we knew that we were back in their 31-game home win streak. They had the longest win streak in the nation. Okay. Um, that was the last time the wrecking crews were wrecking crew. And I talked to Ray Mixon sometime later after that, man. He told me, he was like, Man, we we knew y'all were for real that game. Because the other the prior years, you know, we just sensed some fear in some players, and it just wasn't we knew we would beat y'all in '95. We kind of had some doubt. And we went out there and proved it and showed it, man. And that was telling coming from him because he came to school the same year I did. He was part of two or three of those wrecking crew teams, a team that went no undefeated in '94, but they were on probation. And on that '92 team, I mean, man, he played on some great AM teams, but we took their heart, man, in '95. We we brought them down a notch. 96. We actually took the heart. A M wasn't AM for a long time after those two years.

SPEAKER_02:

Stevie, do you remember a bigger hit in games against Oklahoma? I mean, Oklahoma, Texas AM.

SPEAKER_08:

I don't remember a bigger hit, but I remember um Philip Geiger, story sign of Man Cave uh alum.

SPEAKER_02:

VIP alumni.

SPEAKER_08:

VIP alumni uh hit a hit a uh tight end coming over the middle just like that and dislodged the ball from him. Yeah, yeah. Uh the man went that way, the ball went that way. And if Philip wasn't there, he would have caught it. So that's um, yeah. We we there's a few hits like that in this game. It's a rivalry game, guys. It's gonna be bodies flying all around the place.

SPEAKER_02:

Big hard hitting it. It's not for it's not for if you're the the timid or the weak, so to speak. Um, hey, I found something hilarious over the last four or five seasons. The Texas AM police department releases their arrests and their crimes. Uh, I want y'all to check this out. This is from their last game against Samford. Um, this is hilarious. If you there's a few that'll probably stand out, they do this every weekend, but um this guy, a public intoxication charge, the intoxicated subject found staring at a wall, and he was released to sober girlfriend, ejected from the game. And then and then this one dumbass brought he brought his own alcohol in the game. We've all been there. Yep. We have we have. Hey, fourth level concourse, friends helping a intoxicated girl. Thought she was in section 132, released a sober friend.

SPEAKER_08:

Ejected.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh man, good old Aggie humor, man. They that that's hilarious. They do that every every week.

SPEAKER_11:

Every week, man. I'm getting cool, guys. I'm gonna have to sign off. Sorry to cut my time short. My wife, my better half, as you say, is getting getting upset with me.

SPEAKER_02:

So hey, you gotta do the what the better half says, and you give the fam hello and playmaker 83.

SPEAKER_11:

We'll do it is robbery week. The the cars do play UK this week, so um, we got to end the year on a good note. I'm going cards on Saturday by 10. Longhorns. Don't don't don't shoot the messenger. Longhorns by 10. 10 is yeah, we're not in Marshall. Marcel Marcel Reeds not winning the highs one on us. I'm telling you that right now. That's not gonna happen. So that that's that's gonna end, and then we'll still make the playoffs, but they're not gonna win a conference championship this year, not on our dime, not on our watch. And uh, if they don't play the game strong, they might end up getting upset in that first round. So let's get it, horns. Let's get it this week.

SPEAKER_02:

Let's do it, Mike Adams and Mary bringing the heat. He's cooking again, guys.

unknown:

He's cooking.

SPEAKER_11:

Man, you guys have a great Thanksgiving. Uh happy Thanksgiving to the Longhorn Nation out there, and uh man, enjoy it. A lot to be thankful for. Appreciate you, brothers.

SPEAKER_08:

Absolutely, man. Have a good time. Have a good time out there, man. Be safe.

SPEAKER_11:

Stevie Lee, tell the family hello, man. We talk to y'all later. Love you, brothers.

SPEAKER_02:

Love you, man. Happy Thanksgiving. Yes, sir. All right, Stevie Lee, can you think of a man cave story from your times playing Texas AM? It could have been the ride over there, that overnight, the go walking up to Kyle or a DKR, and or maybe in the locker room or on the pregame or during the on the field or afterwards. Anything man cave story worthy?

SPEAKER_08:

Yeah, man. Um so my first year at uh Texas, and we were about to go and play this um this game. After we filled so when I was playing, there were two weeks. There was always two weeks, it was always a bye week, and then we play AM. It was always well after the game on um before the AM game, for two weeks straight, Mac Brown piped in the Aggie Fight song for two weeks on a loop in our locker room.

SPEAKER_02:

You mean you mean this one?

SPEAKER_08:

That one. Um, I know what you're getting at, but no, not that one. It was the actual fight song. The goodbye to Texas Unit. That's the war hymn. I thought that was the war hymn. Okay, yeah. So, yes, he would pipe in that song for two straight weeks on a loop. There was no gap in between, it would finish and go right back into it.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_08:

And so we we learned that song just by hearing it. You go in the locker room, you hurry up and change and get out of there so you don't have to hear it again. But it was in our locker room on the PA system 24-7 for two weeks. Two weeks, and by the time you get ready for the game and you hear that that that that that song go off in the stadium, you are you fighting mad, you fight mad. So um, I don't know if they are doing anything like that, but coach brown had a way of um getting us psychologically ready.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, yeah, no, man. I love that. Coach Coach Brown had some uh solid ways of uh prepping you guys because he was very successful in that game. Uh, just in case you guys were not aware, I have I had put out on Twitter or on uh Instagram uh people to send their photos that they took of during this rivalry. We got some good ones, got some good ones here. A Red River, excuse me, the Rivalry still photos. Got one of our followers here on the far right, a band member uh of the show band of the southwest. We appreciate you getting a good selfie out there on the field. That was at Kylefield, and this is Gray Moore, who took these photos of uh Arch and our the former tight end man. What those are great pictures, by the way. Yeah, God bless the rivalry. Still photos. We're still taking them, we'll post them, we'll make a collage, send them to at Stories Man Cave or on the um, I think I had an IG story, but I'll put it up on Twitter as well. Or you can just send them to Stevie, I'll give you his cell phone number. Oh man, I I can't wait. I can't wait till Friday. But you know what may be even better? Um TCU beat Houston. I think it was her seventh win of the year, and uh Coach Sonny dikes, he has a lot of fun. Man, they were they pulled out an old Bon Jovi classic and karaoke on the flight back to Dallas.

SPEAKER_08:

Hey man, he's he's uh playing into the stereotypes. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Hey, that's something. Hey, fifty-two-year-old white men, bald men don't have a lot of rhythm either. Hey, he was he put that thing up to his mouth. He was yeah, coach, man.

SPEAKER_08:

He was feeling it, man. That's fun, man. If you can uh have a good time like that with your players, you got something special going.

SPEAKER_02:

You do, you really do. I'll tell you what was special, and this could be a lesson to all young football players and everyone in life. Don't ever give up. Get your ass knocked down, get right back up, and do something, something positive, man.

SPEAKER_05:

It's all these years a time to get look at the hustle. Just great hustle, and then a massive turn over there. Great team in the burdy.

SPEAKER_02:

Steven, he put his hat on the ball. On the ball. He was knocked down four times.

SPEAKER_08:

Yep.

SPEAKER_02:

That's how you play it.

SPEAKER_08:

You play balls to the wall from whistle to whistle. And what my coach would say, the echo of the whistle.

SPEAKER_02:

I never heard that.

SPEAKER_08:

Way through the echo.

SPEAKER_02:

Man, that's impressive. I never thought I never thought about that.

SPEAKER_08:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Cowboys is the big win. Hey, score 24 unanswered points. One 24-21. That was a big win for the Cowboys.

SPEAKER_08:

Yeah, it was. It was a good comeback. That builds um uh confidence too for the Cowboys. To beat Saquon Barkley and Philly, um, and they're at home, but to beat them on a comeback, that's a confidence boost.

SPEAKER_02:

And they were down in a big hole.

SPEAKER_08:

Yeah, they were in a big hole.

SPEAKER_02:

Big ass hole. Yeah. Hey, man, on this rivalry week, we're gonna take a quick break. And when we come back, we'll there's not many Austin teams alive in the high school playoffs. It we started with 42. We're down to 15.

SPEAKER_08:

Oh, wow.

SPEAKER_02:

15. Hey, we're gonna see Stevie some uh award-winning acting right here as we represent Hard Grove Roofing.

SPEAKER_10:

We'll see you on the other side. Here at Hargrove Roofing, uh, we try to think outside the box to kind of get the creative juices flowing. So I brought in my friend Stevie Lee, former defensive tackle for the Texas Longhorns. Um, he's gonna help the team strategize, really motivate them by the fire.

SPEAKER_07:

This guy's gonna block down, this guy's gonna block down. You put your butt into that guard, and that way my mic linebacker gets free to do what?

SPEAKER_10:

Not only are they gonna learn a thing or two, but they're gonna also leave with a great attitude and a bunch of smiles on their faces.

SPEAKER_05:

I'm sorry, what does this have to do with roofing? Exactly. Get out right now.

SPEAKER_07:

I said get out.

SPEAKER_10:

For me, that's what it's all about. It's just having fun, making our employees have a great time. Hard growth roofing. Know who's on your roof.

SPEAKER_02:

Austin, Texas is changing every day. But one constant is Dirty Martin's Place on Glock. Dirty's recently celebrated 98 years young, and the future is stock. And this space in the back is open to host any event, personal or business related.

SPEAKER_00:

Hey everyone, it's Daniel here at uh Dirty Martin's. We're in the Burn Orange Room. We are currently uh booking a lot of parties back here. As you can see, we got a fast team for about 90 people, but we are excited to host uh any party that you might want to bring.

SPEAKER_02:

Give Daniel Young a call at Dirty to reserve this space for any event that you can think of.

SPEAKER_03:

Jet in the end zone!

SPEAKER_02:

How about that? The Weiss Wolves. You and I got to see them on the final game of the regular season. They handed the Anderson Trojans their only regular season loss. Stevie, they absolutely annihilated Lufkin. Lufkin Lufkin's Texas.

SPEAKER_08:

Lufkin is always a hard out, man, but they went in there and tore them up.

SPEAKER_02:

Hey, they Lufkin was uh they were done as soon as they walked the field. And those Shad brothers, the quarterback receiver, and they've got three or four other amazing guys. Uh, Pastor Moore's son is a junior. He can go anywhere in America. Um tall, rangy, long receiver, and strong. And strong. Moore, number nine, right? Yep. Yeah, he's I think he may be a better college player than his daddy was.

SPEAKER_08:

Oh, tell his daddy that.

SPEAKER_02:

But Eric, Eric was a he was a pretty good athlete from DeSoto.

SPEAKER_08:

Um uh no. No, from uh Dallas Carter.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, he played for the whoo!

SPEAKER_08:

Yeah, he played a Dallas Carter for um one of our running backs coach. What was his name at the at Texas?

SPEAKER_02:

Bruce Chambers.

SPEAKER_08:

Bruce Chambers.

SPEAKER_02:

He played I did not realize that.

SPEAKER_08:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Wow. Wow. What small world. I haven't seen Coach Chambers in forever. Yeah, man. Oh, so for all the all 15 teams, including a couple of taps, or three taps private schools. Here's all who's remaining. Texas high school football playoffs, unlike any other in the country. Louisiana's right there. Uh, I had to give that you you guys have a good little tournament as well. Um hey, TikTok in the man cave. Uh, we've all been there, and when you get a certain movement through your body and you can't find a place to let it go, sometimes you're you're baking a bun, and you're trying not to have an accident. This may be, we can all relate to this. I'm serious about this. Yep.

SPEAKER_07:

Hey Ben, tell me something good.

SPEAKER_02:

Stevie Lee, ideal for the week that this is, um Thanksgiving week. And and I I like how this holiday has really evolved because it's um it's just being grateful. Grateful for a lot of things. So the man of positivity, uh Stevie Lee, tell me something good, my brother.

SPEAKER_08:

Something good, man, is we are in Thanksgiving week. And um, you know, my girls asked me the other day, Daddy, what do you want for Christmas? And I said, Man, I'm good. This year has been I reflected on this year. It's been really, really fun, really good, ups and downs, but yes, still good. This year, I I graduated my oldest daughter from col from high school, then sent her off to college this year. My uh youngest one is uh turning 16. Uh, I am officially an old man, man. But I am so thankful for it. I got friends that didn't see 44 years old, you know. I got uh um uh people that that just aren't as healthy as I am at 44 years old, you know. So I'm really, really just thankful, man. That's something good for me, man. I'm just gonna go personal today. So that's just good for me. I'm I'm I'm in a good place. I got a great relationship with my wife, yeah. Great relationship with my uh my uh my mom and dad. Um it's just it's I'm I'm just thankful in this thankful season, man. So um that's something good for me. That's and I'm thankful for you, Sean. I'm thankful for my friend and MA. Ma comes on and uh and he's cooking all the time, man. So I um I'm I'm thankful for this platform just to hang out with my belt, my buddies, and and really talk about uh what we actually loved, uh our hobbies that we we love in um uh which is Texas football. So we're just big fans right now. Uh I yes, I did play there, but I'm just a fan now. I have no input. I can't strap anything on to go out there and play. I can't I can't um I can't strap any helmets or for or shoulder pads on, I should say. To go out there and play. I have I have zero input. So what that makes me is just a fan, and I'm thankful for it, man. I'm thankful that I get to come on here and just talk about it. So this thankful season is just that's something good.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, I love that. Was very well done, my friend. I'm thankful for you and my relationship with you and summer and and ma. Um, and to I'm really thankful for you, uh the people watching, you at home. I'm speaking to you. You um I am overly grateful for those who have helped me grow this. This is a hobby. It was once a somewhat of a profession, uh, part of a profession for two decades. And and to see this thing grow as it has, I'm just not, I just don't have a lot of time because it's my priority, is my career. Uh, but if you need physical therapy, you let me know. Uh I know some people. Um, but I'm overly grateful. And as I reflect on this year, I know usually I usually do this in December, but there's been some challenges this year. There's been some growth, there's been some things to celebrate. Um, I hit one of my low lows this year, and you you were there for me um as I got through it. Um, but also this college football community means so much to me, and I have so much to be grateful for, including my career and um the ability to uh better myself as I and and I've had some goals. I've met about 40-50 percent of my goals this year. Um, it's hard to get half of them achieved, and to have such a good community where I live of friends, and and I still have some family members alive. Love them all. I love you, bro. Um gotta say something, save something for last. I am so grateful. This program right here got the number seven overall seed in the FCS. Oh FCS playoffs, bro. We're gonna we got a first round bye in the FCS playoffs. We will play December 6th, round two, a step closer to the national championship in Nashville.

SPEAKER_08:

There you go.

SPEAKER_02:

Axe some jacks, baby. Like it used to be.

SPEAKER_04:

There it is.

SPEAKER_02:

So here we go.

SPEAKER_08:

There you go.

SPEAKER_02:

And that's it's beautiful. So shout out to the SFA Lumberjack football family, and all of you, and for those of you who watch this great show, uh much love, and to us, the city of Shreeport, the home of Stevie Lee and his beautiful family, and the home to Argrove Roofing, and to my hometown, Austin, Texas, and to Nacados, Texas, my college alma mater hometown. And every one of you, we love you. Thank you. And we can't wait to talk about what may or may not happen Friday. I think by uh talking to us, it's probably gonna be a long horn upset. Long horn upset. What do you think? I I I I think I think it's gonna happen.

SPEAKER_08:

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_02:

The electric atmosphere Friday night at DKR. And to the OG Man K boys, that being Harbaugh Hars, Big Mike, and the coach Mo, what do we tell them, Stevie Lee?

SPEAKER_08:

We out. I'm in my car in the Gideon.
